GW Research Days 2018

February 7, 2018

The Milken Institute School of Public Health (GWSPH) is an integral contributor to GW Research Days! We invite undergraduate, graduate (residential and online), postdoctoral students, and alumni to take advantage of this opportunity. (Alumni listed as the primary presenter at Research Days 2018 should have graduated no earlier than June 2016 and had not submitted to Research Days before).

Participants can create and present an in-person poster or a video presentation. Current students and recent alumni will be eligible for awards.

Why should I participate?

  • Showcase my research
  • Compete for monetary prizes in several categories (for current students; see award categories below)
  • Grow my professional network
  • Gain experience in presenting my research to both a lay and research audience
  • Eligible students can earn one hour of Professional Enhancement Activities for each:
    • Attending the GWSPH keynote speaker presentation
    • People’s Choice Judging of Presentations
  • Poster printing for current students will be paid by GWSPH

The first step for GWSPH entrants is to submit abstracts to the OVPR website by February 28. All entrants will have the option of presenting their poster (in person) to judges on Research Day at Marvin Center on April 11 OR submitting a video poster presentation through the Himmelfarb Research Day 2018 portal by March 28. The details for both in-person poster presentations and video presentations are presented below. All presenters must submit an abstract.

Judges will consist of GWSPH faculty with the exception of the People’s Choice awards, which is open to the general GW community.

How do I participate?

  • Acquire your faculty mentor’s or advisor’s approval for abstract submission (required).
  • Create your abstract and submit online by Wednesday, February 28.

Who can serve as my advisor/mentor?
