Eligibility

To be eligible for our program, you must meet ALL the following criteria before the start of the program:

  • Be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (for support from NIH-supported programs)
  • Be of at least 18 years of age
  • Have completed at least one year of undergraduate coursework in an accredited higher education institution in the United States or Puerto Rico. OR have graduated from an undergraduate program within the last two years (no earlier than 2023 graduation date).  
  • Have not been accepted to a graduate program or matriculating to a graduate school program for the upcoming school year. Those already accepted, enrolled, or have graduated from a graduate level program are not eligible.
  • Have interest in pursuing an advanced degree in social, behavioral, or biomedical sciences in the pursuit of a research career.
  • Ideal candidates should be interested in research that addresses social and behavioral factors associated with HIV, mental health, and substance use disorder, in the general population and especially among Hispanic/Latino Communities.
  • Have a strong commitment to serve Hispanic/Latino communities through research focused on HIV and substance use disorder.
  • Be able to commit fully to the program timeline, including 40-hour workweeks, pre- and post-program correspondence with our administrators, and weekly lecture and workshop attendance.
